Ministry of Education: Summer clubs are an educational environment for fostering creativity and making productive use of students' free time
The Ministry of Education continues to implement its summer programs aimed at developing students’ capabilities and making productive use of their free time during the summer break. These programs are accessible through registration in specialized summer clubs that offer sports, educational, and recreational activities within an engaging educational environment. Such initiatives contribute to refining skills, discovering talents, and fostering creativity and innovation, while enhancing educational activities that enrich students’ experiences and develop their abilities across various fields.
In this context, Dr. Fahd Al-Saeed, Acting Director of the Art Guidance Department for Practical Studies, emphasized that the Practical Studies Club, part of the evening summer clubs, represents an interactive educational environment that combines learning with entertainment. It aims to utilize students’ free time during the summer break, thereby contributing to the development of their practical and creative skills and the refinement of their talents.
Al-Saeed clarified that the club targets students aged 8 to 14, operating through two dedicated centers for participants. The boys’ center is located at Saleh Al-Shahab Secondary School, under the Hawalli Educational Zone, while the girls’ center is situated at Al-Qurtuba Girls’ Secondary School, under the Capital Educational Zone.
He added that the club offers a diverse range of practical activities aligned with technological advancements, including interior design and technical drawing, as well as activities involving electronic and electrical devices. Additionally, students are introduced to 3D printing technologies and their use in shaping materials and producing practical models. The club also facilitates projects for recycling materials and transforming them into valuable products, thereby strengthening students’ awareness of environmental conservation and sustainability.
He pointed out that the club’s objectives include developing students’ practical and artistic skills, enhancing creativity, innovation, and critical thinking, and utilizing free time in enjoyable and meaningful educational programs. Furthermore, it aims to build self-confidence, discover and nurture latent talents among students, and encourage them to cultivate interests in manual and practical work.
Al-Saeed noted that registration is available either in person at one of the two designated registration centers or through the Ministry of Education’s website under the “Student Services” section. He called on students and parents to take the initiative to register and benefit from the programs and activities offered by the club, given their role in equipping students with practical skills and new experiences, developing their creative capacities, and preparing a generation capable of innovation, production, and serving society.
