4 Guidelines When Your Vehicle Breaks Down on the Road

The General Directorate of Traffic emphasized that the safety of road users is among its top priorities. In line with its commitment to enhancing road safety and mitigating risks arising from vehicle breakdowns, it urged drivers to adhere to the following guidelines in the event of a sudden breakdown on the road:

1. Park the vehicle as far to the right side of the road as possible, away from the flow of traffic, whenever feasible.

The General Directorate of Traffic also called on drivers to perform regular vehicle maintenance and to ensure the condition and air pressure of tires, particularly during the summer season, given that high temperatures can increase the likelihood of tire damage or blowouts, which may lead to traffic accidents.

The Directorate noted that compliance with these guidelines contributes to enhancing road safety, protects the safety of road users, and enables relevant authorities to quickly reach disabled vehicles and provide the necessary assistance.
