Syrian Authorities: Cell Responsible for Damascus Bombings Belongs to ISIS

The commander of Internal Security in the Damascus countryside, Major General Ahmad Al-Dalati, announced on Friday that preliminary interrogations with the cell involved in the bombing of two explosive devices in Damascus during French President Emmanuel Macron’s visit revealed that it is affiliated with the Islamic State (ISIS) group.

Al-Dalati told Syrian state television, “Preliminary interrogations with members of the cell involved in the Damascus bombings showed their affiliation with the ISIS group,” following the Interior Ministry’s announcement earlier that day of the arrest of cell members in Damascus and its surrounding countryside.
