The ministry added that the agenda items were discussed, contributing to enhancing cooperation and coordination among Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries in highlighting the true image of Islam and countering campaigns of hatred, intolerance, extremism, and sectarianism.
It is worth noting that the meeting, attended by representatives of the ministries and agencies of Islamic affairs and endowments in GCC countries, is part of joint Gulf efforts aimed at consolidating the values of moderation, tolerance, and moderate discourse, in response to campaigns of distortion, hatred, and extremism, and in safeguarding youth and adolescents from being influenced by extremist ideas through awareness programs, institutional partnerships, and the exchange of expertise among member states.
Earlier, the Ministry of Islamic Affairs participated on Wednesday, represented by Deputy Minister Al-Suwailim, in the 42nd meeting of the Standing Committee of Specialists in Islamic Affairs and Endowments of the GCC countries, which was held via video conference.
In a separate statement, the ministry clarified that the meeting discussed several agenda items, including “the exchange of research and experiences in the field of endowments,” “a review of experiences in the field of Islamic affairs,” as well as exploring ways to enhance cooperation and joint Gulf action.
