The Acting Permanent Representative of Kuwait to the United Nations, Minister Plenipotentiary Faisal Al-Anazi, stated in a statement before the Security Council’s emergency session on “the situation in the Middle East” that Kuwait holds Iran fully responsible for those attacks. He emphasized that Kuwait has not been and will not be a party to any military escalation, and that it has not permitted and will not permit the use of its territory, airspace, or territorial waters as a launching point for any hostile acts against any state.

He noted that since the beginning of the escalation wave, Kuwait has been subjected to hundreds of missile and drone attacks, which in previous phases resulted in casualties, injuries, and damage to civilian and critical infrastructure. He pointed out that the vigilance of the armed forces and the effectiveness of air defenses prevented greater losses.

Al-Anazi reiterated Kuwait’s full solidarity with Bahrain, affirming that the security of Kuwait, Bahrain, and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states is indivisible, and that any attack on a Gulf state constitutes a direct breach of the collective security of the region.

He warned that the absence of accountability encourages further escalation and threatens international navigation and civilian infrastructure. He stressed that despite the attacks it has endured, Kuwait believes that security and stability are achieved through dialogue, de-escalation, and peaceful means, and welcomed diplomatic efforts aimed at halting military operations and reducing tensions.
