For the third consecutive year, the “Little Heroes” event brought children together to celebrate movement and play, and to enjoy pleasant family time outdoors. Supported and sponsored by IKEA and organized by Savex, the event attracted more than 3,500 children and their families, providing young participants with opportunities to discover new sports, engage in physical activity, and enjoy unforgettable experiences with their families and friends. Inspired by the Olympic spirit, “Little Heroes” featured six dedicated activity zones, along with more than 20 games designed to introduce children to a diverse range of sports in a fun and welcoming atmosphere.

Over two days, children tested their fitness in running and obstacle races, and honed their shooting skills through basketball, football, and archery activities. They were also given the chance to explore other sports, such as fencing, boxing, and taekwondo. The various activities encouraged children to try new experiences, build self-confidence, and enjoy the benefits of an active and vibrant lifestyle.

On this occasion, Alisa Bendia, Manager of Market Analysis, Consumer Insights, and Brand at IKEA, said: “At IKEA, we believe that children learn best when they are given the freedom to explore, play, and discover new potentials. Through the ‘Little Heroes’ event, we strive to provide children with opportunities to try new experiences, build their self-confidence through sports and teamwork, and acquire valuable life skills, all in a fun-filled environment. Most importantly, we aim to encourage a more active lifestyle and help families create beautiful memories together.”

Bendia added: “One of the most joyful aspects is seeing children leave the ‘Little Heroes’ event having discovered a new sport that sparks their enthusiasm and desire to practice it in the future. We hope this event continues to inspire families to adopt active lifestyles and encourages parents to instill healthy habits that accompany their children and endure throughout their growth stages.”

This year, the “Little Heroes” event expanded its activities, which promote participation, interaction, and inclusion, thereby offering more opportunities for children of different abilities and interests to participate, have fun, and express themselves in a supportive environment.

For his part, Ahmed Al-Majed, Chief Operating Officer at Savex, said: “‘Little Heroes’ is rooted in the simple belief that every child harbors an athlete waiting to discover their potential. Providing space for movement, play, and exploration helps them bring out these capabilities. Through six zones and 20 games, children experienced activities that enhanced movement, teamwork, courage, inclusion, and the joy of achievement, within an atmosphere inspired by the Olympic spirit that celebrates participation over excessive competition. In collaboration with IKEA and our partners, we are proud to deliver a family sports experience that allows every child to discover the champion within.”

Al-Majed added: “Over the years, we have noticed families’ keenness to return to participate in ‘Little Heroes,’ as it offers their children the opportunity to explore and try various sports in one place. Many children leave with the motivation to continue their journey in the world of sports, while parents draw new ideas to keep their children active throughout the year.”
