Syria: Hezbollah Militia Cluster Planned to Target Homs Refinery

Syria’s General Intelligence Directorate announced on Tuesday, in coordination with internal security forces, the thwarting of a terrorist plot by a cell affiliated with Hezbollah that targeted the Homs Refinery. The Syrian Ministry of Interior stated in a press release that the operation followed meticulous security surveillance and resulted in the arrest of cell members and the seizure of explosives they had prepared to target the refinery. The ministry added that the operation is part of the security agencies’ efforts to pursue terrorist cells, disrupt their plans, and protect vital facilities and the country’s economic assets. Earlier, the Syrian News Agency (SANA) reported that Syrian intelligence had foiled a terrorist plot to target the Homs Refinery.
