The Municipal Council, in its main session held today, Monday, and chaired by Abdullah Al-Mohri, approved the Kuwait Petroleum Corporation’s request to delineate the boundaries of the existing oil complex site in the Shuwaikh area. The Council also approved adopting the technical opinion regarding the transaction, setting the site’s area at 64,591.94 square meters, with the condition of coordinating with the Ministry of Finance’s State Property Contracts Department, and authorizing the relevant departments to make necessary adjustments to dimensions or area within the prescribed limits.

Furthermore, the Council approved the Ministry of Finance’s request to amend the Council’s decision issued to the Tourism Projects Company regarding the development project of the Masila Beach Lagoon 2, which covers a total area of approximately 70,334.5 square meters. The proposed amendment includes regulating construction, commercial, recreational, sports, and cultural uses. The project will feature a recreational, training, and educational center, indoor and outdoor children’s play areas, exhibitions, museums, covered sports fields, water activities, skating halls, theaters, a cinema, a health club, festival and event squares, and various multi-purpose recreational facilities.

The Council adopted the technical opinion included in the transaction, stipulating that the amendment to the previous decision excludes service areas from being counted as construction areas, and mandating the submission and approval of detailed plans by the competent authorities before issuing permits, coordinating with the Ministry of Finance regarding the concluded contract, and obtaining approval from the General Directorate of Traffic.

The Council also approved the Ministry of Public Works’ request to amend Item 1 of the Council’s decision concerning commercial spaces in the new T2 passenger terminal building at Kuwait International Airport.

Additionally, the Council approved the Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy’s request to allocate a fresh water pipeline with a length of approximately 480 meters and a width of 5 meters in the Riqqa area, extending from the intersection of the Sixth Ring Road adjacent to the Ammunition Camp, to supply a camp designated for allocation.

The Council also approved the Ministry of Justice’s request to change the use of land designated as a site for a multi-story parking building to serve the Public Prosecution building and adjacent structures in the Shuwaikh Administrative Area, converting it into an administrative building and multi-story parking facility, with the site area according to the layout plans measuring approximately 6,625.37 square meters.

Finally, the Municipal Council approved two requests from the Ministry of Commerce and Industry to allocate sites for a Supply Center (points for selling and distributing subsidized and discounted food supplies and their short-term storage purposes in residential areas) in the Riqqa and Jabir Al-Ali areas, with each site covering 1,000 square meters.
