Justice Ministry: Applications Open for Entry-Level Legal Researcher Position

The Ministry of Justice announced its need to fill the position of “Junior Legal Researcher” for both male and female Kuwaiti nationals qualified to serve as Assistant Public Prosecutors (Grade C), as part of efforts to attract and train national talents for work in the judicial corps. The Ministry specified several conditions for applicants, the most prominent of which is that the applicant must be a Kuwaiti national and hold a law degree from the University of Kuwait or an equivalent accredited qualification recognized by the Ministry of Higher Education, for graduates of the 2025/2026 academic year only. The minimum cumulative grade point average must be 2.67 out of 4.0, or an equivalent of 80% according to the grading system used in other institutions.

The Ministry also stipulated that the applicant must not exceed 26 years of age at the time of obtaining the university degree, must not have previously applied for this position or worked under the university degree with any government entity or in the private sector, and must not be registered with the Public Institution for Social Security. Additionally, applicants must have a good reputation and clean record, with no prior criminal or disciplinary convictions for offenses involving honor, trust, or morality, and must meet the medical fitness requirements for the position.

The Ministry clarified that passing the written exam and personal interview conducted by the selection committee is a mandatory condition for admission. Successful candidates will be appointed to the civil service cadre as “Junior Legal Researchers,” entitled to the prescribed financial benefits and allowances, and will undergo a training program at the Kuwait Institute for Judicial and Legal Studies, in accordance with relevant regulations and decisions, in preparation for assuming the role of Assistant Public Prosecutor (Grade C) upon successful completion of the training.

The Ministry invited interested candidates to visit its website via the employment services link to review the conditions, complete the job application form, and attach the required documents in PDF format. It noted that applications will be accepted from Sunday, November 1, 2026, at 12:00 noon, until Monday, November 30, 2026, at 12:00 noon, and that no applications will be accepted after the deadline.
