Interior Ministry: Suspect Arrested in Al-Mutla Murder Case

The Ministry of Interior announced that the General Directorate of Criminal Investigations, represented by the Al-Jahra Criminal Investigations Department in cooperation with the General Security Sector, arrested an Asian suspect in the murder of a guard at a construction site in the Al-Mutlaa area in less than 24 hours from the receipt of the report. The ministry said in a press statement on Saturday that security agencies received a report yesterday morning stating that the body of a guard on the roof of the construction site had been found. Competent authorities immediately proceeded to the scene to examine the incident and collect evidence. Investigations revealed suspicion of a former guard of the site, who had been dismissed a day before the incident was discovered. It emerged that he had surrendered himself to the East Police Station under the pretext of an arrest warrant related to the expiration of his residence permits, seeking to be deported from the country before his connection to the case was uncovered. Upon interrogation, the suspect confessed to committing the incident following a dispute with the victim, who had replaced him at work. He admitted to assaulting the victim using a wooden piece and a knife. The ministry noted that the necessary procedures are underway to refer the suspect to the competent authorities.
