Kuwait participated in the 2026 Annual Economic Autumn Forum, held in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam’s economic capital, to discuss international economic cooperation, investment opportunities, and the enhancement of partnerships between governments and the private sector.
In a statement received by the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) on Friday, the Kuwaiti Embassy in Vietnam said that Kuwait’s Ambassador to Hanoi, Yousef Al-Sabbagh, attended the forum pursuant to a mandate from His Highness Sheikh Ahmed Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, Prime Minister.
The statement noted that the forum was attended by Vietnamese Prime Minister Le Minh Hung and Stefan Mergenthaler, Director-General of the World Economic Forum, alongside more than 1,800 participants, including senior government officials, representatives of international institutions, companies, the private sector, businessmen, economic experts, and ambassadors accredited to Vietnam.
The event, held in collaboration with the World Economic Forum under the theme “The Spirit of Cooperation in the New Era,” discussed several topics related to global economic growth drivers, technological and digital transformations, innovation, the development of production and international trade networks, and strengthening the role of the private sector in driving development. Discussions also covered ways to expand international cooperation to address current economic challenges, create a conducive environment for investment and sustainable development, showcase available investment opportunities, and enhance partnerships among governments, the private sector, and international institutions.
On the sidelines of the forum, Ambassador Al-Sabbagh conveyed greetings from His Highness Sheikh Ahmed Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, Prime Minister, and Kuwait’s political leadership to Vietnamese Prime Minister Le Minh Hung and Vietnam’s political leadership. Ambassador Al-Sabbagh also conveyed His Highness the Prime Minister’s best wishes for Vietnam, its government, and its people, for continued progress and prosperity, and for the bilateral relations between the two countries to flourish and develop further.
