Mays Al-Suqairi – In an initiative to enhance cultural exchange between Kuwait and Thailand, the Embassy of the Kingdom of Thailand in Kuwait donated 100 books to the Kuwait National Library, introducing readers to Thailand’s heritage, culture, and history. Ms. Orawan Korto, Chargé d’Affaires of the Thai Embassy, emphasized that this step contributes to strengthening bilateral relations and fostering mutual understanding between the two peoples. Speaking at yesterday’s book-handover ceremony, Korto stated that the initiative aims to acquaint Kuwaiti readers with Thailand’s heritage, culture, and people, expressing her hope that the books will serve as a bridge for communication between the two societies and as a step toward enhancing the existing ties between the two countries. She noted that the collection includes diverse titles on culture, arts, literature, and Thai history, offering readers a glimpse into Thailand’s heritage and society, as well as the stories that have contributed to shaping its cultural identity. She added that the donation was supported by the Thailand Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting friendship and communication between Thailand and countries around the world. The collection will be displayed in the “Diplomatic Hall,” which the National Council for Culture, Arts and Letters is establishing at the Kuwait National Library.
