Faisal Matar: The Public Authority for Combating Corruption, “Nazaha,” organized a training program titled “Corporate Governance and Its Role in Enhancing the Culture of Integrity and Transparency,” with the participation of more than 190 employees representing 30 government entities. The program was presented by Dr. Hussein Al-Sabbagh, the Supervisor of Awareness and Education at the Authority.
The program covered the National Guide for Corporate Governance, its key principles, and the mechanisms for its implementation in government entities, alongside practical examples and a focus on Kuwait’s experience in information technology governance through the “Sahel” platform, which serves as a model for digital transformation in delivering government services.
The organization of the program aligns with “Nazaha’s” efforts to promote the culture of corporate governance, strengthen the principles of integrity, transparency, and accountability, and entrench sound administrative practices within government entities.
On another note, “Nazaha,” in coordination with the Kuwait Institute for Judicial and Legal Studies, received a group of legal researchers participating in a training course for the preparation of public prosecutors. The visit included a field tour of the Authority’s headquarters, featuring two introductory presentations and a tour of the Corruption Detection and Investigation Sector and the Financial Accountability Sector, to familiarize the participants with the nature of their work and their jurisdictions.
Yousef Al-Zaid, the Supervisor of Reports and Investigations for Independent Entities and Companies, delivered a presentation on the jurisdiction of the Corruption Detection and Investigation Sector. He discussed the receipt and investigation of reports, monitoring corruption cases and following up on projects, as well as investigative procedures, asset recovery efforts, and whistleblower protection.
Additionally, Rawdan Al-Mukhaim, the Supervisor of Inspection Committees and Acting Director of the Inspection Committees, Support, and Reports Department, presented on the Financial Accountability Sector. His presentation covered the concept of the financial accountability declaration, the procedure for submitting it, and the role of inspection committees in reviewing these declarations.
The visit concluded with a field tour of both sectors, during which the researchers observed the nature of the work performed by the affiliated departments and units, their jurisdictions, and their operational mechanisms.
