Faisal Matar – The Ministry of Education announced the opening of applications for its employees to apply for funded study missions and unpaid study leaves to complete bachelor’s degrees within and outside Kuwait for the 2026/2027 academic year, across five plans and 11 approved specializations.

The Ministry stated that its Undersecretary issued a general notice regarding applications for study missions or leaves for the 2026/2027 fiscal year, urging eligible employees to submit their applications electronically via the “Ta” platform on the Ministry’s website within two weeks from the date of the notice, with a final deadline of the end of Saturday, November 7.

It added that applicants may modify or cancel their draft applications and reapply during the registration period, but the ability to modify or cancel will cease two days before the period ends. The Ministry urged applicants to review their data and ensure their applications are complete before the deadline.

The Ministry noted that mission plans are subject to general conditions and the provisions of the Study Missions and Leaves Regulations, in addition to the specific conditions of each plan and the requirements of the study institutions.

It clarified that the mission plan for persons with disabilities allows applications for study missions to complete a bachelor’s degree, exempting them from the service and specialization requirements, while adhering to the regulations and submitting a recent certificate from the Public Authority for Persons with Disabilities.

The Ministry specified that the study leave plan for obtaining a bachelor’s degree from the University of Kuwait includes eight specializations: Mathematics, Physics, Geology, Biology, English Language, Arabic Language, Philosophy, and Artificial Intelligence. In addition to the general conditions and regulatory provisions, this plan requires a General Secondary Certificate or its equivalent, issued no more than two years prior. Applications will be rejected if the desired specialization is unavailable or if the applicant fails to meet the university’s admission and registration requirements.

Basic Education

The study leave plan for obtaining a bachelor’s degree from the College of Basic Education, affiliated with the Public Authority for Applied Education and Training, covers four specializations: Mathematics, English Language, Arabic Language, and Music Education. This plan requires a General Secondary Certificate or its equivalent with a minimum percentage of 70% for recent male certificates and 80% for old male certificates, and 75% for recent female certificates and 80% for old female certificates.

The Ministry clarified that the determination of minimum admission thresholds and higher percentages depends on the seats approved by the college and any new circulars issued by the Dean of Admissions and Registration at the Authority. Applications will be rejected if the specialization is unavailable or if admission and registration requirements are not met.

The Ministry further stated that the funded study mission plan and the unpaid study leave plan for completing bachelor’s degrees outside Kuwait or at private universities within Kuwait cover 11 specializations: Mathematics, Physics, Geology, Biology, English Language, Arabic Language, Philosophy, Music Education, Accounting, Artificial Intelligence, and Computer Information Systems.

It added that both plans are subject to general conditions, the provisions of the Study Missions and Leaves Regulations, and the requirements of the study institutions. Applications will be rejected if the specialization is unavailable or if admission and registration requirements are not met.

The Ministry pointed out that applicants may visit the General Administration of Development and Training in person during the registration period to inquire or report technical issues, located in Jabriya, Block 2, Street 105, opposite Fahad Al-Duwairi Secondary School.
