Mohsen Rezaei, secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, said on Monday that his country had held “very good talks” with officials from Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and Pakistan following a quadrilateral meeting hosted in the capital, Tehran. In statements to Iranian state television, Rezaei noted that “new dynamics are taking shape in the region,” adding that he sensed “very positive atmosphere” during the discussions among officials from the four countries. He further stated that officials from Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and Pakistan believe that resolving regional problems lies in the cooperation and solidarity of the four nations, emphasizing that “regional cooperation should have begun long ago.” Rezaei pointed out that the visit of senior officials from the three countries to Tehran demonstrated, in his words, that “American threats do not significantly affect countries around the world.”
