May Al-Sukkarri - As part of its ongoing efforts to enhance health awareness and support women’s health, the Lebanese Embassy in the country organized the second edition of the “Breast Cancer Awareness and Health and Wellness Promotion” event, in collaboration with the Lebanese Women’s Council in Kuwait, with the participation of more than 85 women. The participants gathered in a friendly atmosphere filled with optimism, love, and solidarity, around a shared message emphasizing the importance of prevention and caring for women’s physical and mental health.

The wife of the Lebanese Ambassador to the country, Mani Haddad Al-Khouri, stressed the Embassy’s commitment to making this initiative an annual, recurring tradition that highlights women’s health and raises awareness about breast cancer and the importance of early detection, based on the belief that awareness and knowledge constitute the first line of defense against the disease. Al-Khouri emphasized that early detection and regular screenings contribute to saving lives, affirming that empowering women begins by providing them with accurate information that helps them make informed decisions about their health. She also noted that wellness is not limited to physical health, but also encompasses mental and emotional well-being, which play a crucial role in achieving balance and living healthier lives.

The event featured an interactive fitness session supervised by physical fitness trainer Rania Al-Khatib, who encouraged participants to engage in physical activity and make movement a part of their lifestyle, alongside medical follow-up and preventive measures. She stressed that practicing sports is an essential and important component of women’s health, especially after the age of 40, due to its role in promoting overall health and helping prevent certain types of cancer.

The Embassy dedicated a space titled “Tree of Wishes,” where participants could write down their wishes and messages for health and recovery, and hang them on the tree. This humanitarian gesture expressed solidarity and moral support for every woman facing the challenge of breast cancer, reflecting the belief that kind words and sincere hope provide strength during difficult times.
