Ibrahim Muhammad: Health Minister Dr. Ahmed Al-Awadi issued a ministerial decision regarding the fees for services provided by the Medical Liability Authority. Article One of the decision, published in the official newspaper “Kuwait Al-Yaum,” stipulated the fees for the Authority’s services, set at 20 Kuwaiti dinars per request for administrative services related to healthcare professionals and facilities, 20 dinars for administrative services related to the Health Licensing Department, and 20 dinars for obtaining additional copies of technical committee reports. It also set the fee for convening appeal committees against a technical committee’s report at 200 dinars. Article Two stipulated that the fees for convening appeal committees must be collected within a period not exceeding thirty days from the date the appellants are notified of the acceptance of their appeals. Failure to pay the fees within the specified period renders the appeal submissions null and void. The decision was based on a Cabinet of Ministers letter approving the fees proposed by the Medical Liability Authority for the prices of services it provides to third parties. The issuance of the decision was in accordance with public interest considerations and upon the proposal of the Chairman of the Medical Liability Authority.
