Zakaria Mohammed: The Municipality has approved the Ministry of Justice’s request to change the designated use of a plot currently allocated as a multi-story parking facility, converting it into an administrative building and a multi-story parking structure covering an area of 6,625 square meters in the Shuwaikh Administrative Area, in implementation of a Cabinet of Ministers decision. The Municipality stipulated that the height of the administrative building and the multi-story parking facility must not exceed the permitted height in the area (ten floors), and that a detailed traffic study be submitted to the Structural Planning Department for approval prior to implementation. It also required adherence to the conditions outlined in the responses of the members of the Sub-Committee for Public Utilities and Services, and coordination with them before implementation. Furthermore, relevant departments were authorized to relocate and adjust the site’s dimensions and area, without exceeding the prescribed limits, in case of conflict with any existing infrastructure services or regulatory requirements.
The Municipality also approved the Ministry of Commerce and Industry’s requests to allocate two sites for supply centers, serving as sales and distribution points for subsidized and discounted food supplies and their short-term storage needs, in the residential areas of Jabir Al-Ali and Ar Rahah. The Municipality decided to allocate a site in Jabir Al-Ali, Plot 8, covering an area of 1,000 square meters, along with a parking area of 1,000 square meters. The second site was allocated in Ar Rahah (East Ar Rahah), covering an area of 1,000 square meters, with a parking area of 22,188 square meters. The Municipality stipulated that the Ministry of Commerce and Industry shall assume responsibility for management, supervision, and oversight of these sites, in accordance with the Cabinet of Ministers decision, and must comply with the height restrictions applicable to both areas.
