The Arab League strongly condemned on Friday the attacks launched by the Houthi militia targeting King Fahd International Airport and the Shaybah oil field in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which resulted in casualties, injuries, and material damage to the targeted facilities. In a statement, the Arab League affirmed its firm rejection of the continued Houthi attacks on Saudi territory, considering them a violation of the Kingdom’s sovereignty and a direct threat to its security, stability, and the safety of citizens and residents within its borders. It stressed that the repeated targeting of airports, oil, and civilian facilities constitutes a highly dangerous escalation that threatens civil aviation safety and energy security, and undermines regional and international efforts aimed at reducing tensions and reaching a political settlement to the Yemeni crisis. The League renewed its full solidarity with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and its support for the measures it is taking to protect its security, sovereignty, and territorial integrity, affirming that the security of the Kingdom is an integral part of Arab national security. It called on the international community to assume its responsibilities in halting these attacks and preventing their recurrence, while expressing its sincere condolences to the families of the victims and its best wishes for the swift recovery of the injured.
