CNN: US considers using 'Mother of All Bombs' against Iranian energy facilities and nuclear sites

CNN reported, citing U.S. officials, that President Donald Trump’s advisers have drawn up plans to carry out strikes against Iran in coordination with Israel, to be executed as soon as the president receives the necessary approval. According to the officials, the U.S. military’s use of “Mother of All Bombs” (MOAB) against Iranian energy facilities and nuclear sites is among the options under consideration, as Washington explores potential military responses to Tehran. The sources added that any renewed conflict between the United States and Iran is likely to be short-lived but intense, with ongoing studies of the nature of potential targets and the scope of the strikes. These developments come amid growing concerns over the widening of confrontations in the region, amid U.S.-Israeli coordination on potential military options against Iran.
