Algeria’s Minister of Foreign Trade and Export Promotion, Kamel Rizik, held talks with Kuwait’s Ambassador to Algeria, Nawaf Daidan Boushbe, on ways to enhance trade cooperation between the two countries and the need to work on exploring partnership opportunities between economic operators from both sides. The Kuwaiti Embassy in Algeria said in a statement on Thursday that both sides praised, during the meeting held at the ministry’s headquarters in the capital Algiers, the deep historical ties and distinguished relations between the two brotherly countries. The statement noted that the talks provided an opportunity to discuss prospects for developing Algerian-Kuwaiti trade exchanges and to activate the anticipated outcomes of the upcoming meeting of the Joint Committee, particularly in this important and vital field. The two sides also reviewed ways to explore partnership opportunities between businessmen and investors of both countries, with a view to supporting trade exchanges between Kuwait and Algeria. Rizik and Boushbe stressed the importance of strengthening the presence of locally manufactured Algerian products in the Kuwaiti market and expressed hope for organizing an exhibition for these products in Kuwait, in addition to discussing the establishment of a businessmen’s council in both countries to boost commercial and economic cooperation and elevate it to the distinguished level of political relations between the two brotherly countries and peoples. In a media statement to the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) at the conclusion of the meeting, Ambassador Boushbe praised the quality and diversity of Algerian products, especially those he had seen during his recent visit to the food products exhibition organized in the wilaya of Blida, south of the capital, at the beginning of this week.
