In line with Kuwait Commercial Bank’s commitment to enhancing health awareness and consolidating a culture of prevention, the bank organized a dedicated awareness day for its employees on the occasion of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The event featured a variety of health activities and initiatives aimed at highlighting the importance of early detection and encouraging the adoption of health practices that contribute to prevention and the promotion of public health.
The activities included providing general health check-ups for employees in collaboration with Al-Muwasah Hospital, hosting the “Perhaps” café in the rear courtyard of the bank’s main building, and offering special discounts to employees in partnership with several specialized health and fitness organizations. These efforts were designed to strengthen employees’ interest in their well-being and encourage them to adopt healthy lifestyles.
Speaking on the occasion, Amani Al-Wara’, Deputy General Manager for Corporate Communications at the bank, said: “The bank places great emphasis on combating diseases in general, and breast cancer in particular, through organizing awareness programs that align with its established policy of advancing its social responsibilities toward the community and enhancing health awareness among its employees. We also encourage our staff to take care of their health, undergo necessary examinations, and pursue early detection, based on our belief that prevention is better than cure.”
In a gesture reflecting the humanitarian dimension of the event, bank employees wrote encouraging and supportive messages to breast cancer survivors, expressing their solidarity with them and wishing them strength and swift recovery. This initiative underscored the importance of psychological and moral support during the treatment journey, reflecting the spirit of empathy and mutual solidarity that the bank strives to foster, alongside its role in spreading health awareness and promoting community responsibility.
The initiative coincided with October, which hosts global Breast Cancer Awareness Month events, as part of worldwide efforts led by health authorities to raise awareness about the disease, highlight the importance of early detection and prevention, and contribute to combating the disease and reducing its risks.
Concluding her remarks, Amani Al-Wara’ emphasized that the bank’s awareness activities aim to motivate employees to prioritize their health, undergo regular check-ups for early disease detection, thereby enhancing public health and reinforcing the concept of prevention. She noted that these initiatives reaffirm the bank’s commitment to its social responsibility and its dedication to promoting health awareness among its staff and encouraging them to adopt healthy lifestyles that help safeguard their well-being.
