Faisal Matar: The Ministry of Education has announced the opening of registration for the national “Trainee Teacher” program, aimed at attracting and qualifying 1,020 Kuwaiti male and female teachers holding non-pedagogical university degrees, in line with schools’ needs for the 2026–2027 academic year. Registration will take place via the “Dal” electronic platform from October 18 to 22.

The Ministry emphasized that the program targets university degree holders who are not graduates of the Faculties of Education or Basic Education, in the required specialties, with the goal of preparing qualified national cadres in pedagogical and professional terms, and linking teacher recruitment to the needs of the educational field.

It clarified that the required specialties include mathematics, science, chemistry, physics, biology, geology, French, philosophy, Chinese, Spanish, law, commercial and industrial specialties, electricity and electronics, computer science, and music education, according to the university qualifications and the specific numbers allocated for each specialty.

The Ministry explained that the determination of specialties and numbers was based on a study of schools’ needs, to direct qualification opportunities toward fields requiring infusion of national competencies, and to achieve balance between the number of teachers and the actual needs of the education system.

It noted that registration is open to citizens, whether they are registered with the Civil Service Bureau as job seekers or not, emphasizing that submitting an application does not constitute final acceptance, as candidate selection is subject to meeting the conditions and the Ministry’s needs for the specified specialties.

The Ministry stressed that joining the program does not guarantee appointment, and that it is not obligated to appoint or assign those who do not successfully complete it. It clarified that applicants who hold a job must submit their resignation from their current workplace if accepted into the program, in accordance with approved procedures.

The Ministry called on eligible individuals to submit their applications within the specified period, review the program’s requirements and obligations before registering, provide accurate data and submit the required documents, and monitor the “Dal” platform to stay informed about application updates and admission procedures.
