Minister of Public Works, Dr. Noura Al-Mashaan, inspected the Sabah Al-Nasser Bridge project today, Wednesday, to verify the readiness of final works ahead of the official opening of several roads and roundabouts to traffic, in coordination with the General Directorate of Traffic, at 4:00 a.m. tomorrow, Thursday.
Speaking to the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA), Al-Mashaan said the phase scheduled for opening includes the service road parallel to the Sixth Ring Road in the direction of Musaylil, and the southwestern roundabout for traffic coming from Road 604 toward Kabd and leading to the Sixth Ring Road in the direction of Musaylil. She added that the southeastern roundabout for traffic coming from the Sixth Ring Road in the direction of Musaylil and leading to Road 604 toward the Sabah Al-Nasser area will also be opened.
She emphasized that the opening of the new lanes comes as a continuation of the project’s operational phases, within the efforts of the Ministry of Public Works to complete vital projects, enhance the efficiency of the road network, and improve traffic flow. Al-Mashaan stated that the ministry continues its field follow-up of projects until their completion and entry into service, ensuring the readiness of works and compliance with technical specifications and safety requirements before opening them to road users.
She highlighted the importance of continued coordination between ministry teams and relevant authorities to ensure traffic safety and maximize the benefits of the new lanes. She urged road users to comply with signage and traffic instructions during the opening period and to follow the General Directorate of Traffic for updates on any diversions or temporary closures in the project area.
The opening of the new lanes completes the sections of the Sabah Al-Nasser Bridge project that were put into operation last August, as part of the project’s completion phases and efforts to improve traffic connectivity on the Sixth Ring Road and the roads leading to surrounding residential areas.
