29 Countries, Including the US and UK, Accuse Iran of Involvement in the Fairford Base Incident

A joint statement issued by 29 countries, including Britain and the United States, endorsed London’s conclusion regarding Iran’s alleged involvement in the incident at RAF Fairford, a base of the British Royal Air Force. This came as British Prime Minister Andy Burnham confirmed that the attack was likely coordinated by Iran and ordered by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), claims that Tehran strongly denied. The statement emphasized that any attempt by Iran to threaten, silence, intimidate, harass, harm, or coerce individuals within the territories of the signatory states, whether through proxies or any other means, is unacceptable. It further noted that the Fairford incident demonstrates the IRGC’s readiness to carry out what it described as attacks beyond Iran’s borders. The signatory countries affirmed that anyone engaging in hostile activities on behalf of Iran or any other state should understand that these countries will take necessary measures to uncover, investigate, and thwart such acts, and to prosecute those responsible. In a speech before the House of Commons today, the British Prime Minister stated that his country would not tolerate such attacks and would continue to combat Iranian networks and their attempts to raise funds and cause harm to the United Kingdom. Burnham added that authorities would keep the public updated on developments regarding the incident at RAF Fairford, praising the rapid response of military and police personnel to the events at both Fairford and RAF Molesworth, and noting ongoing coordination with the United States regarding the protection of British military bases.
