Kuwait: Saudi security is an integral part of our security

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed the State of Kuwait’s strong condemnation and deep outrage over the blatant attack launched by the Houthi militia against King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, in the brotherly Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, yesterday, Saturday, which resulted in casualties and injuries among innocent civilians, including passengers and airport workers who are Saudi nationals and citizens of various other nationalities, as well as the temporary suspension of operational activities at the airport.

In a statement issued today, Sunday, the Foreign Ministry affirmed that this heinous and cowardly attack constitutes a blatant violation of international law and international humanitarian law. It stressed that the repetition of these organized hostile acts targeting civilian objects and vital infrastructure represents a serious escalation and a direct threat to the security of air navigation and the safety of civilians, necessitating the accountability and prosecution of those responsible.

Kuwait reaffirmed its absolute solidarity with the brotherly Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, standing by its side and supporting all measures it takes to safeguard its security and stability and to protect its citizens and residents on its territory, emphasizing that the security of the Kingdom is an integral part of the security of the State of Kuwait and the security of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries.

The Ministry also expressed Kuwait’s sincere condolences and heartfelt sympathies to the leadership, government, and people of the brotherly Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, as well as to the governments and peoples of the countries to which the victims belong, and to their families and loved ones, conveying wishes for the swift recovery of the injured.

It called on the international community to fulfill its responsibilities and adopt a firm stance against these repeated attacks, ensuring the protection of civilian objects and civil aviation infrastructure, preventing their recurrence in the future, and guaranteeing that perpetrators do not escape punishment.
