Trump: We May Participate in Strikes on Houthis, Will Study the Matter

US President Donald Trump announced on Saturday that the United States is considering participating in strikes against the Houthis, affirming that he would make the decision in response to the attack on King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh. Trump stated, “I just learned of the attack on Riyadh airport and I will make a decision,” adding, “We may participate in strikes against the Houthis and we are studying the matter.” Trump’s remarks came after Saudi Arabia’s General Authority of Civil Aviation announced that King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh had been attacked on Saturday afternoon, resulting in several injuries. The authority decided to temporarily suspend operational operations at the airport until damage assessments are completed and the safety of the facilities is verified.
