Who is Shaker Naveh... the one who planned the massacre against Palestinians?

Occupation authorities revealed the identity of Shachar Nevo, a mathematics professor at Bar-Ilan University, who is accused of planning a series of coordinated attacks targeting hundreds of Palestinians in the 1948 territories, Jerusalem, and the West Bank, and of recruiting dozens of Israelis to participate in them, according to the Jerusalem Post. The State Attorney’s Office in the occupation submitted an indictment against Nevo, aged approximately 60, before the Central District Court in Lod, charging him with preparing for a terrorist act, extortion by threat, and obstructing the course of justice. According to the indictment, the suspect devised a plan over a period of more than three years, from February 2023 until his arrest about two weeks ago, driven by nationalistic and ideological motives, with the aim of killing hundreds of Arab citizens, including Bedouins, and forcing them to flee and permanently relocate to Jordan, Lebanon, and the Gaza Strip. The prosecution noted that the suspect named his plan “Atid,” which means “the people will carry out the expulsion” in Hebrew, and carried out preparatory actions that included field reconnaissance, preparation of detailed documents, and attempts to recruit participants, all against the backdrop of the Gaza war. According to the indictment, the plan involved 72 perpetrators, at least half of whom were expected to hold licenses to possess firearms, divided into 12 cells of six members each, armed with pistols, rifles, axes, and hammers, to execute simultaneous and surprise attacks in mixed cities and Israeli towns. The revelation of the case has raised concerns among Palestinian citizens of Israel, prompting the Higher Follow-up Committee for Arab Citizens to hold an emergency meeting in the village of Tuba al-Zangariyya near Tiberias. The attendees called for full disclosure of the circumstances surrounding the case, monitoring the trial and attending its hearings, in coordination with the “Adalah” legal center, as well as sending a letter to the Attorney General demanding an investigation into racist incitement and holding those responsible accountable. They also called for the establishment of an independent investigative committee to uncover the facts related to the investigation’s proceedings, emphasizing the necessity of following up on the case at judicial, political, and public levels.
