Kuwait: Houthi Militia Attacks on King Khalid Airport Were Shameful and Cowardly

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed Kuwait’s strong condemnation and outrage at the blatant attacks launched by the Houthi militia on King Khalid International Airport in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, which targeted airport facilities and a Saudi Airlines aircraft, resulting in the martyrdom of several Saudi citizens, the injury of residents of various nationalities, and material damage, in a blatant violation of the Kingdom’s sovereignty and a flagrant breach of international law and international humanitarian law. The Ministry stressed Kuwait’s unequivocal rejection of these cowardly attacks and their recurrence, given that they pose a direct threat to regional security and the safety of civilians and civilian infrastructure, as well as to aviation. It emphasized the urgent need for an immediate halt to such hostile acts. Reaffirming Kuwait’s absolute solidarity with the Kingdom and its support for all measures taken to safeguard its sovereignty, security, and the protection of its citizens and residents on its territory, the Ministry underscored that the security of the Kingdom is an integral part of Kuwait’s security and the security of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries. The Ministry also conveyed Kuwait’s sincere condolences and heartfelt sympathies to the brotherly Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, its leadership, government, and people, as well as to the families of the martyrs, and wished the injured a speedy recovery.
