Occupation closes British consulate in Jerusalem in response to settlement sanctions

The decision by the occupation entity to close the British consulate in East Jerusalem has entered into force with the removal of the mission’s signs, in response to London’s plans to impose sanctions targeting Israeli settlements in the West Bank. Reuters reported on Thursday that workers removed the main sign bearing the name of the British Consulate General, along with another sign for the consular section, during the night hours, while the British flag remained flying above the consulate building in the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood.
