Kuwait Finance House Showcases Its Banking Experience to Global Institutions

Kuwait Finance House (KFH) Group announced its participation in the 2026 Annual Meetings of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank Group, scheduled to take place from October 12 to 18 in Bangkok, the capital of Thailand. The event will bring together finance ministers, central bank governors, senior financial leaders, and key decision-makers from around the world.
The KFH delegation will be led by the Group’s Chairman, Hamad Abdulmohsin Al-Mutairi, and will include Group Chief Executive Officer Khaled Al-Shamlan, Group Executive Vice President for Treasury and Financial Institutions David Olowu, Head of Treasury – Kuwait at KFH Ahmed Al-Samit, Chief Executive Officer of Baitak Capital Abdullah Al-Haddad, and Group Head of Public Relations and Communications Yousef Al-Ruwaihi.
This participation underscores KFH’s international presence and reaffirms its leading position on the regional and global stages as a world-leading Islamic banking group, with operations spanning 10 countries, notably Kuwait, Bahrain, Egypt, Turkey, the United Kingdom, and Germany. Supported by a wide network of more than 600 branches, KFH operates under a clear strategic vision aimed at securing a place among the world’s top 100 banks in the coming period.
The participation also reflects KFH’s ongoing commitment to strengthening its presence at international economic forums, showcasing its pioneering banking experience, and highlighting the pivotal role of Islamic finance in achieving financial stability and supporting sustainable development pathways.
These annual meetings of the World Bank Group and the IMF also provide an opportunity to explore cooperation and partnerships with global financial institutions, emphasizing the role of the Islamic finance industry and KFH’s extensive expertise in Islamic financing. KFH’s global presence has been reinforced by its ability to sustain growth and innovation, keeping pace with transformations in the financial sector, and serving as a model capable of driving sustainable development. Additionally, the event offers a platform to showcase the strength of the Kuwaiti economy and the resilience of its financial and banking system.
The KFH delegation is expected to engage in discussions with finance ministers, central bank governors, and heads of major financial institutions from around the world, focusing on ways to enhance growth prospects. Key topics will include economic development, strengthening the financial and banking sectors, digital transformation, and innovation in financial services, among other issues shaping the future of global growth.
KFH will also participate in the Gulf-Asia Economic Forum, in a session titled “Banking, Investment, and Digital Infrastructure,” which will feature leading officials and executives from investment and technology firms across the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries and Asia.
Furthermore, the Group’s delegation will attend the Kuwaiti Banks Reception, organized by the Kuwait Banks Association. This event is one of the most prominent economic gatherings, bringing together government officials, policymakers, and heads of financial and investment institutions from around the world to exchange views and discuss economic and financial challenges and developments.
