Support for Legitimacy Alliance: 100 Fighters Participated in 'Yemen Dawn' Operation

Brigadier General Turki Al-Maliki, the official spokesperson for the Coalition to Support Legitimacy in Yemen, announced that 100 fighter aircraft participated in the initial hours of the “Fajr Yemen” operation launched by the Yemeni government forces against the Houthi militias. Al-Maliki stated that the coalition provides air protection for the Bab al-Mandab Strait, noting ongoing engagement with moving targets, alongside providing round-the-clock air support to Yemeni armed forces on the ground. He added that the Coalition to Support Legitimacy has destroyed 324 high-value targets since the launch of the “Fajr Yemen” operation.

This development follows the announcement by the Yemeni Armed Forces on Monday of their successful control over the Bab al-Mandab Strait, marking a new field development in Taiz Governorate, and confirming the recovery of strategic positions in the area. In a statement, Colonel Majid Al-Nazili, the official spokesperson for the Yemeni Armed Forces, said that Dhu Abab airport, located west of Taiz Governorate, has come under the control of the Yemeni army. He noted that the military operations are part of efforts to reclaim areas on the western coast from Houthi militias.

Al-Nazili added, “We have begun implementing the ‘Fajr Yemen’ operation on a broad scale to target Houthi capabilities and elements. The ‘Colossus’ forces and ‘Shield of the Homeland’ have succeeded in controlling Bab al-Mandab, and Dhu Abab airport is now under the control of government forces.” He pointed out that the forces have cut the road between Dhu Abab and Al-Mukha and established firm fire control over it, stating, “There are hundreds of surrounded Houthi elements in the Dhu Abab area, who are being called upon to surrender to the government forces.”
