Emir's Representative, Minister of Education, Opens 46th Educational Conference of the Teachers' Association

Kuwaiti Education Minister Sayyid Jalal Al-Tabatabaai affirmed today, Sunday, that the high patronage of His Highness the Amir of Kuwait, Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, may God protect and support him, for the 46th Kuwait Teachers Association Educational Conference reflects the attention and support accorded to the education sector as a fundamental pillar in building human capital, developing capabilities, and enhancing its role in the country’s comprehensive development process.

In a speech delivered on behalf of His Highness the Amir during the opening of the 46th Kuwait Teachers Association Educational Conference, held under the theme “Innovative Visions for a Sustainable Educational Future in Kuwait,” which runs until October 6, Al-Tabatabaai said he was honored to convey the Amir’s greetings and best wishes for success to the participants. He expressed hope that the conference’s deliberations would yield insights and recommendations that contribute to elevating education and building a better future for Kuwaiti youth.

He added that a nation’s progress and the sustainability of its development stem from an education system capable of producing knowledge, developing capabilities, and preparing generations equipped with the tools of the future while remaining proud of their national identity.

Al-Tabatabaai noted that the conference takes place at a stage marked by rapid transformations in learning tools, teachers’ roles, learners’ needs, and future skills. He pointed out that artificial intelligence and digital transformation have become integral to the educational reality, but emphasized that technology, regardless of its advancement, remains a means rather than an end.

He stressed that the Ministry of Education views the conference as a platform for exchanging experiences and formulating practical, implementable, and measurable visions and recommendations, particularly since the topics and themes discussed align with several projects and plans undertaken by the Ministry, reinforcing a shared direction toward developing a more efficient, effective, and sustainable education system.

For his part, Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Council Jassim Al-Budaiwi, in his speech, stated that education constitutes one of the key pillars in building human capital and serves as a primary driver for achieving sustainable development. He noted that positive indicators in general education across GCC member states reflect the significant attention and continuous investment in younger generations.

Al-Budaiwi expressed his deepest gratitude and appreciation to His Highness the Amir for his gracious patronage of the conference, commending the leadership of GCC member states for their support of joint GCC efforts aimed at facilitating education for students who are citizens of GCC countries, as well as for working to enhance GCC integration in the educational field.

In his speech, Hamad Al-Houli, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Kuwait Teachers Association, affirmed that the high patronage of the conference reflects the political leadership’s attention to the education system and its support for efforts aimed at developing it and enhancing its outcomes, alongside strengthening the status of teachers and their pivotal role in building human capital and contributing to shaping the nation’s future.

He added that the conference activities include 24 sessions and workshops featuring a select group of specialists, academics, and educators from within Kuwait and abroad, with an expected attendance of no fewer than 3,000 participants.

Al-Houli explained that the conference highlights teacher preparation to keep pace with the demands of modern education, the development of their professional and leadership competencies, and the role of educational leadership in improving the quality of education and managing change and development in educational institutions.

The Kuwait Teachers Association Educational Conference represents one of the most prominent educational events that discuss issues and challenges related to education development. Through its sessions and workshops, it seeks to present visions and recommendations that support the development process and achieve a sustainable educational future in Kuwait.
