Egyptian Foreign Minister: We Appreciate the Developmental Role of the Arab Fund for Economic Development in Africa

Egyptian Foreign Minister Dr. Badr Abdelatty emphasized the importance of cooperation with the Arab Bank for Economic Development in Africa (BADEA), expressing appreciation for its developmental role in supporting Africa’s development efforts, financing infrastructure and agricultural projects, value chains, and private sector capacity building. The Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement on Friday that this came during a meeting between Minister Abdelatty and BADEA President Abdullah Al-Masibih, held on the sidelines of the Egypt-hosted “Alexandria–Africa Forum.” The statement noted that Abdelatty expressed hope for continuing trilateral cooperation and enhancing the participation of the Egyptian private sector in projects funded by BADEA in Africa. The meeting also discussed cooperation opportunities in transport and logistics, linking African markets, supporting joint projects, transferring Egyptian expertise, and capacity building, all of which would strengthen Egypt’s role as a hub for Arab-African cooperation and support development and economic integration efforts on the continent. It highlighted the “pivotal” role of the “Hafiz” platform in disseminating tenders, business opportunities, and related channels. Following the meeting, both sides toured the exhibition accompanying the forum, dedicated to startups and entrepreneurs, where they reviewed examples of projects and innovations reflecting the growing potential of African youth.
