May Al-Sukairy: The Indian Ambassador to Kuwait, Paramita Tripathi, emphasized the importance of the role played by Kuwaiti media in strengthening ties between the two countries and bringing their peoples closer, announcing the launch of the “Indian-Kuwaiti Media Connectivity Initiative.” This initiative will serve as a sustainable platform for dialogue and engagement between the embassy and Kuwait’s media community, providing reliable and verifiable information and resources about India and bilateral relations.

Speaking at the launch event under the theme “Partnership, Vision, and Opportunities,” Tripathi noted that Indian-Kuwaiti relations are rooted in a long history and strong people-to-people ties, adding that media outlets in both countries have, for decades, helped convey stories that unite the two peoples and enhance mutual understanding.

She pointed out that the rapid transformations in the media landscape and the instantaneous cross-border flow of news make trustworthy journalism, contextualization, and meaningful engagement more critical than ever. She stressed that these developments present an opportunity to deepen understanding of Indian-Kuwaiti relations, which have been built over generations.

Tripathi explained that the initiative will highlight numerous shared stories between the two countries in the fields of business, innovation, culture, education, tourism, and technology, as well as stories of individuals who breathe life into Indian-Kuwaiti relations. She considered these aspects to go beyond daily news, contributing to building understanding between the two societies.

Tripathi announced that the embassy will organize informal monthly meetings with journalists in Kuwait to discuss developments in India and Indian-Kuwaiti relations, as well as key diplomatic files, major policy initiatives, and regional and international developments.

Regarding cooperation between Kuwait and India in the field of artificial intelligence, the ambassador affirmed that AI and emerging technologies are a priority for India, Kuwait, and the world. She noted that the meeting of the Joint Working Group on Science and Technology had taken place the day before the initiative’s launch.

She said that both countries have plans and strategies in the field of AI, including data centers and initiatives related to emerging technologies, emphasizing the significant potential for fruitful bilateral cooperation in this area. She added that both sides are already working to develop this cooperation, expressing confidence that these efforts will yield new steps in the coming phase.
