Kuwait condemns Houthi militia targeting power facility serving Prophet's Mosque

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed Kuwait’s strong condemnation and outrage today, Thursday, at the Houthi militia’s targeting of a power facility serving the Noble Prophet’s Mosque in the holy city of Medina in the brotherly Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. It reaffirmed Kuwait’s firm rejection of the recurrence of these despicable and cowardly hostile attacks against civilian infrastructure, which constitute a blatant violation of the Kingdom’s sovereignty, a flagrant breach of international law and international humanitarian law, a provocation of the feelings of Muslims worldwide, and a serious escalation in the violation of the sanctity of Islamic holy sites. The Ministry renewed Kuwait’s absolute solidarity with the brotherly Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, its steadfast support alongside the Kingdom, and its backing of all measures undertaken by the Kingdom to safeguard its sovereignty and security, and to protect its citizens and residents on its territory, emphasizing that the security of the Kingdom is an integral part of the security of the State of Kuwait and the security of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries.
