3 Aircraft Carriers and 2 Amphibious Groups Deployed Near Iran by Late November

A U.S. official told Al Jazeera that three aircraft carriers and two amphibious assault groups will be deployed in the vicinity of Iran by the end of November. The official said the aircraft carrier USS Roosevelt, accompanied by its strike group, departed from San Diego base bound for the Middle East, while the amphibious assault group USS Makin Island left the same base last Monday, also heading for the region. He added that more than 2,000 U.S. Marine Corps soldiers are en route to the Middle East aboard the amphibious assault group, noting that by the end of November, three aircraft carriers and two amphibious assault groups will be positioned around Iran. He clarified that the deployment of such a significant military force in the Middle East will provide U.S. leaders with multiple options for dealing with Iran.
