Ronaldo Leaves Portugal Camp: Will Reveal Reasons at the Right Time

Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo left his national team camp in anger following disputes with coach Jorge Jesus, according to the newspaper Marca. Ronaldo confirmed in a statement posted on his official social media accounts that he decided to leave the national team camp after the team’s press conference and a meeting with the president of the Portuguese Football Federation. “I will reveal to the Portuguese people, in due time, the truth behind the reasons that led me to leave the national team, to which I have always dedicated myself,” he said, wishing Portugal and all his teammates success. The Portuguese national team coach said at a press conference, “I decided not to include Cristiano... What’s the problem?” He added that the decision not to play him against Norway was tactical, based on the flow of the match, and emphasized that he is the decision-maker and no player can force him to change his decisions. Ronaldo had missed Portugal’s match against Norway last Sunday in the UEFA Nations League, as the team prepares to face Denmark tomorrow. Marca noted that this period may be Ronaldo’s final chapter with the Portuguese national team.
