Gulf Air stated that, “in response to a request from the Kuwait Civil Aviation Authority to postpone the activation of passenger transfer (transit) services via Kuwait International Airport, we regret to inform our passengers that we will not proceed with activating this service and will delay the resumption of these flights through the T5 Gulf Air passenger terminal until further notice. We also apologize to our valued passengers whose travel plans have been affected by this decision. The company will either fully refund the value of their tickets or allow them to change their travel dates without any additional charges.”
In a statement, a copy of which was received by Al-Qabas yesterday, the airline noted that “since March 2026, airlines operating through major airports in the Gulf Cooperation Council countries and the region have gradually resumed passenger transfer (transit) services, culminating in their full resumption today.” It added, “We believe that resuming these flights via Kuwait benefits passengers, supports the markets we serve, and strengthens Kuwait’s regional and international connectivity, while contributing to the expansion of services available at Kuwait International Airport, thereby reinforcing its status as a key gateway for air transport.”
The airline further stated, “We fully recognize that resuming these services requires coordination with the Civil Aviation Authority. We will continue to work and cooperate closely with the Authority to support its efforts to complete its preparations for resuming connecting and transit flight operations through the T5 Gulf Air passenger terminal.”
It concluded, “We reiterate our commitment to supporting Kuwait’s aviation sector, enhancing air connectivity, and expanding travel options available to our passengers. We will announce the date for the resumption of connecting and transit flights as soon as it is determined. We thank our passengers for their patience, understanding, and continued trust in Gulf Air.”
