Flydubai: Fight Occurs in Cockpit of Flight to Tel Aviv

Flydubai announced that a fight broke out in the cockpit of flight FZ 1073, which was traveling from Dubai International Airport to Ben Gurion International Airport in Tel Aviv, on Wednesday. In a second statement, the airline said its crew secured the aircraft before diverting it and landing safely at Tabuk Airport in Saudi Arabia, confirming that all passengers and crew members were unharmed. Flydubai added that it had dispatched two replacement aircraft to Tabuk to assist passengers and crew, noting that the incident did not affect other scheduled operations within its network. The company emphasized that the causes and motives behind the incident remain unknown at this stage and are subject to an official investigation, urging the public to refrain from speculation until all information and facts have been gathered. It stressed that its current priority is ensuring the safety and well-being of all passengers and crew members and supporting the official investigation.

Earlier on Wednesday, Flydubai had announced in an initial statement that the flight experienced an unexpected incident, necessitating a diversion and precautionary landing at Tabuk Airport in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. A company spokesperson said the aircraft landed safely and confirmed at the time that all passengers and crew were unharmed, with no injuries reported. He added, “The safety of our passengers and crew remains our top priority, and our teams handled the situation in accordance with established operational procedures to ensure the highest levels of safety.” He noted that company teams were working closely with authorities and relevant agencies to monitor the incident and ascertain the circumstances, reaffirming that the company would continue to provide necessary support to affected passengers. Flydubai confirmed that further details and updates would be announced as soon as they become available, in coordination with the competent authorities.
