The technical committee of the Municipal Council, in its meeting today (Tuesday) chaired by Eng. Munira Al-Amir, recommended approving the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ request to reorganize part of Plot No. 1 within the Diplomatic District in West Mishref, in accordance with the provisions of Decree-Law No. 40 of 1978 concerning the organization of planning plots, and Ministerial Decision No. 325 of 2023 concerning the rules and procedures related to the organization of planning plots and its amendments. This involves merging Plots No. 7 and 8, each with an area of 3,000 square meters, into a single plot with an area of 6,000 square meters, and subdividing it into six plots, each with an area of 1,000 square meters. This was subject to coordination with the Ministry of Finance (State Properties Administration), in implementation of the Cabinet of Ministers’ decision on allocating state real estate properties to Arab and foreign diplomatic entities and international and regional organizations in Kuwait.
The committee also approved the Ministry of Public Works’ request to create an entrance and exit for the site of the Ministry of Electricity and Water and Renewable Energy in the Sulaibikhat Cemetery area (South Sulaibikhat), in Plot No. 1, with a width of 30 meters and a length of 250 meters. This approval is conditional upon the Ministry of Public Works providing the Municipality with the final design of the requested road in accordance with the requirements of the service ministries, and authorizing the relevant administration to shift and adjust the road’s lengths, dimensions, and coordinates by no more than the prescribed limits, in case of conflict with any existing infrastructure services or regulatory considerations.
