National Guard hosts Finnish delegation to enhance cooperation and exchange expertise

The Assistant for Financial Affairs and Resource Management at the National Guard, Major General Riad Touqari, and the Commander of Military and Security Affairs, Brigadier General Abdullah Abdullah, received a delegation from the friendly Republic of Finland, comprising Jarno Siriala, Deputy Minister for International Trade at the Finnish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Yova Mustonen, the Finnish Ambassador to the State of Qatar, as part of efforts to enhance cooperation and exchange expertise.

In a press statement on Monday, the National Guard said that Major General Touqari welcomed the delegation and conveyed greetings from the National Guard leadership, emphasizing the importance of exchanging visits and expertise and strengthening cooperation and coordination between fraternal and friendly countries in military and security fields, leveraging specialized experiences and enhancing readiness levels and technical capabilities to support the defense and security system.

He added that during the visit, the Finnish delegation toured the Sheikh Salem Al-Ali Center for Chemical Defense and Radiation Monitoring at the National Guard, where they inspected the center’s facilities and capabilities and received a briefing on its role in monitoring and tracking radiation levels and hazardous materials through various monitoring stations.

The delegation also reviewed at the center the key tasks related to protection against chemical, biological, and radiological hazards, as well as detection and monitoring means, response to emergency cases, and procedures implemented to ensure rapid response and elevate readiness levels.
