Saudi Arabia's Green Team becomes the first to reach the Gulf Cup 27 semifinals

The Saudi national team has secured its qualification for the semifinals of the 27th Gulf Cup ("Khaleeji 27"), currently being held in Jeddah and scheduled to conclude on October 7. This achievement came after a decisive 3-0 victory over Oman in the match that concluded the second round of Group A. With this win, the "Green Falcons" have collected a perfect record of six points from two victories, against Kuwait and Oman. Meanwhile, Oman's tally remains at one point, while Iraq has four points.

Saudi Arabia's three goals were scored by Firas Al-Buraikan, who netted twice in the 11th and 34th minutes, and Hassan Al-Kadish, who scored in the 18th minute of the first half. The "Green Falcons" took early control of the match by applying immediate pressure on their Omani opponents, surprising them with three goals while delivering a standout performance as the home side. Oman attempted to mount a comeback through several attacks during both halves, but to no avail.

Consequently, the "Green Falcons" have secured a perfect six points from two matches, guaranteeing themselves the first spot in the semifinals. Oman retains a slim hope of advancing until the final round, requiring a victory over Kuwait by more than one goal, coupled with an Iraqi defeat by more than three goals against Saudi Arabia.

The result of the "Green Falcons'" final group stage match against Iraq will not affect their qualification. Even if they lose, they will retain their six points, with Iraq topping the group on seven points, without impacting Saudi Arabia's advancement. This holds true even if Oman defeats Kuwait, as Oman's total would only reach four points.
