Al-Shaheed Park Prepares to Open "Phase 3"
The Martyr’s Park is preparing to open its third phase to the public with a celebratory carnival that embodies the values of peace, harmony, and hope. The opening is scheduled for October 1, during which the park’s areas will transform into vibrant spaces celebrating the future through a complete and aesthetic visual spectacle.
Anwar Al-Yatimi, representing the Amir’s Diwan and speaking at a press conference held yesterday (Saturday) in the Round Hall of the Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Cultural Center, stated that the Martyr’s Park is a national project that adds significant value to Kuwait’s cultural and entertainment landscape. It reflects the state’s commitment to providing comprehensive destinations that serve the community and align with its aspirations.
She noted that the third phase completes the achievements of the first and second phases, offering a renewed vision and high-quality components that integrate culture, art, entertainment, and sports within a modern and sustainable environment. This enhances the park’s status as one of Kuwait’s premier destinations and provides a comprehensive experience for all family members.
Al-Yatimi added that coinciding with the opening, a celebratory carnival will be organized on October 1 and 2. It will feature a series of events and activities designed to offer a special experience for the public, celebrate this national achievement, and provide everyone with the opportunity to discover the new facilities and experiences included in the third phase.
She extended her sincere thanks and appreciation to Capital Governor Sheikh Abdullah Salem Al-Ali for his support of the occasion, as well as to Kuwait Finance House, Alshaya Group, Ooredoo Kuwait, and Binstar Al-Yousef for their sponsorship and support of the opening and the accompanying carnival, which highlights the importance of effective partnerships between state institutions and the private sector in supporting national projects and initiatives.
“We look forward to the third phase of the Martyr’s Park representing a continuation of the successes achieved in previous phases and a new launch toward more events and activities that meet the community’s aspirations and enhance Kuwait’s presence as an attractive destination for culture and entertainment,” she said.
From his side, Khalid Al-Filakaawi, Vice Chairman of the Committee, praised the efforts of sponsors and supporters, as well as everyone who contributed to the success of the occasion. He explained that these sponsorships reflect a distinctive model of partnership and cooperation, underscoring the private sector’s commitment to fulfilling its social role and contributing to supporting national, cultural, and entertainment projects and events in Kuwait.
Al-Filakaawi said, “We highly value these partnerships and look forward to their continuation and development in the future, contributing to presenting distinctive events and initiatives that serve the community and enrich the cultural and entertainment landscape in Kuwait.”
On her part, Nadira Al-Ahmad, a member of the Supervisory Committee, outlined the key features of the carnival. She explained that it aims to activate all the park’s diverse and unique facilities through a comprehensive program spanning two days, integrating culture, arts, entertainment, and sports.
Al-Ahmad highlighted the carnival’s main features, including light shows illuminating and activating the Dome of the Sur Theater, entertainment shows for children and families enlivening outdoor theaters and various open spaces, and Kuwaiti heritage performances reflecting the national heritage and cultural identity. She also mentioned celebratory processions roaming different parts of the park, adding a festive atmosphere, as well as artistic works, creative installations, and light shows that enhance the visitor experience and enrich the carnival’s ambiance.
Furthermore, she pointed out dynamic and sports activities involving local athletes in parkour and skateboarding areas, adding a lively dimension to the experience. Various activities distributed across all park facilities will be presented by sponsoring entities and partners to delight visitors of all ages.
She noted that visitors can learn about all events and their locations through the carnival schedule and an interactive map showing the locations of various activities and shows within the park.
On his part, Hamoud Al-Shaya, representing Alshaya Group, said, “Since our inception, we have believed that our role extends beyond the commercial scope to include positive and sustainable contributions to the communities in which we live and work.” He considered the Martyr’s Park to embody this direction, describing it as a distinctive destination in the heart of Kuwait City that combines green spaces, culture, and entertainment, providing individuals and families with a place to gather and spend time together, becoming part of their daily lives.
Al-Shaya stated that “our support for this phase reflects our firm commitment to our homeland, Kuwait, and our belief in the importance of integrating efforts among various entities. Kuwait Finance House: We Support Projects Opening New Tourism and Entertainment Horizons
Abdullah Al-Ruwaih, Representative of Kuwait Finance House and Head of Public Relations and Media for the Group, emphasized the institution’s commitment to building and strengthening strategic partnerships with important state entities, including the Martyr’s Park in its third phase.
Al-Ruwaih added, “We are pleased to support this distinguished project, which represents an extension of Kuwait’s role in supporting national community initiatives. This is driven by our belief in the importance of social responsibility and the leadership role played by Kuwait Finance House in this field.”
He noted that Kuwait Finance House firmly believes that such projects are among the most important national initiatives that will have a positive impact on society. He added that the partnership with the Martyr’s Park confirms the institution’s commitment to fulfilling its role and providing necessary support to projects that open new tourism and entertainment horizons, enhancing the building of strategic partnerships that contribute to achieving development goals in line with Kuwait Vision 2035.
Ooredoo: Theatrical and Sports Events in Cooperation with the Amir’s Diwan
Nasser Al-Arfaj, Director of Strategic and Public Relations at Ooredoo Kuwait, stated that the company was keen to sponsor this distinguished national project, which adds significant value to Kuwait’s cultural, entertainment, and environmental systems.
He expressed pride in this partnership with the Amir’s Diwan, noting that it is not limited to this occasion but “will extend, God willing, to future years through unconventional events to be implemented on the ground in cooperation with the Amir’s Diwan.”
He said that Ooredoo’s geographical proximity to the third phase of the Martyr’s Park represents a continuation of joint events. There will be special theater events and others related to sports, alongside initiatives focused on broader community development and joint seminars with the Amir’s Diwan.
