Al-Humaidi Foodstuff and Al-Humaidi Limited contribute $2 million to the Emergency Response

The Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development announced that Al-Humaidi Food Industries Company and Al-Humaidi Limited have each contributed $1 million, bringing the total contribution to $2 million for the benefit of the Kuwait Emergency Response Fund. In a press statement, the Fund said that these two contributions add two companies, operating in different economic sectors, to the list of supporters of the Fund, reflecting the diversity and broad reach of the participating institutions in the initiative, which now includes multiple sectors of the Kuwaiti market. These contributions come at a time when the Fund has begun directing its resources toward financing damage repair works, having transitioned from the phase of mobilizing contributions to implementing approved projects and assessing needs submitted by affected government entities. Al-Humaidi Food Industries Company is active in the food manufacturing sector in the State of Kuwait, with activities encompassing the processing, preservation, and production of a range of food products. Al-Humaidi Limited, on the other hand, operates in the furniture and home furnishings trade sector and manages the operations of IKEA in Kuwait, one of the world’s leading brands specializing in furniture and home solutions. It is worth noting that the Kuwait Emergency Response Fund was launched on the initiative of the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development and with the approval of the Council of Ministers. The Fund is responsible for managing and directing its resources to finance response, recovery, and damage repair works affecting the country’s basic infrastructure and services.
