Yemeni Leadership Council Chairman: We call on the people for general mobilization and a call to arms

Yemeni Presidential Leadership Council Chairman Rashad al-Alimi called on the Yemeni people to undertake general mobilization and a comprehensive national uprising, and to join the ranks of the armed forces and security agencies to confront the Houthi group. Al-Alimi announced that facilitations would be provided to anyone who, starting today, takes the initiative to “leave the terrorist Houthi militias,” confirming that those who respond to this call will be covered by a general amnesty to be issued later, in accordance with the constitutional and legal procedures in place.

In a speech marking the 64th anniversary of the September 26 Revolution, Al-Alimi stated that he had decided to “open the door for a safe return to the side of the Republic and constitutional legitimacy,” citing the state’s responsibility to spare the blood of Yemenis, end the war, and prevent acts of revenge and retaliation.

The Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council emphasized that “this is the historic moment for all Yemenis to rise up.” Al-Alimi called on brotherly and friendly states seeking to achieve security and stability in Yemen and the Red Sea to stand alongside the Yemeni people, its government, and its armed forces, and to support the coalition led by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

He condemned what he described as the “aggressions and grave violations” committed by the Houthi group, asserting that this constitutes a dangerous escalation and places the state leadership under its constitutional and moral responsibility to deter the threat and protect civilians. Al-Alimi added that experience has proven that making concessions does not lead to peace, but rather gives the Houthis an opportunity to reorganize their ranks.
