"Food": 150 kg of assorted food items destroyed in Al-Ahmadi

The General Authority for Food and Nutrition conducted two inspection campaigns in cooperation with the Ministry of Interior at food establishments in Al Ahmadi and Al Mubarakiyah Governorates. The campaigns resulted in the destruction of more than 150 kilograms of various food items and the taking of necessary measures against violators.

In a press statement issued on Friday, the Authority stated that the Al Ahmadi Governorate Inspection Department, in cooperation with the Ministry of Interior, carried out an inspection campaign that identified several violations. These included operating a food establishment without a license, trading in adulterated food, failure to meet technical and health requirements, and non-compliance with personal and public hygiene standards. The campaign led to the destruction of 150 kilograms of various food items.

The Authority added that the Al Mubarakiyah Governorate Inspection Department also conducted a joint supervisory campaign in cooperation with the Ministry of Interior. This campaign involved inspecting 26 food establishments and resulted in the issuance of eight violation reports. The violations related to health and hygiene requirements, licensing, and health certificates. Additionally, 2.457 kilograms of food unfit for human consumption were seized and destroyed.

The Authority affirmed that it continues its supervisory efforts to protect consumer health and ensure food safety, safeguarding the health of citizens and residents.
