Kuwait University ranks highest in the Arab world in “Clinical Medicine”

Kuwait University announced that it has maintained its presence in the ShanghaiRanking’s Global Ranking of Academic Subjects for 2026, with the discipline of Clinical Medicine ranked in the global 201–300 category, placing it in the highest tier achieved by Arab and Gulf universities in this field.

In a press statement issued on Thursday evening, the University noted that the ranking placed it in the same category as the top-ranked Arab and Gulf universities in Clinical Medicine, reflecting its research presence in one of the internationally competitive medical disciplines.

The University added that the Global Ranking of Academic Subjects encompasses approximately 2,000 universities from around 100 countries worldwide, while the Clinical Medicine ranking includes 500 globally ranked academic institutions, underscoring the level of international competition in academic and research fields.

It further explained that the detailed indicator results demonstrated the University’s research presence in the Citation Normalized Citation Impact (CNCI) indicator, alongside indicators for international collaboration, scientific outputs, and world-class faculty members.
