Kuwait and Iraq: Strengthening Security Cooperation to Combat Organized Crime

The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior, Lieutenant General Abdulwahab Al-Wahib, emphasized the necessity of exchanging information and monitoring, analyzing, and directing security media statements between Kuwait and the fraternal Republic of Iraq to curb rumors and ensure cooperation between the two countries.

The Ministry of Interior stated in a press release today (Thursday) that this came during Lieutenant General Al-Wahib’s reception of Major General Dr. Saad Maan, Head of the Iraqi Security Media Cell, and his accompanying delegation.

Al-Wahib highlighted the importance of strengthening security media communication channels, developing joint cooperation, transferring security expertise, and curbing organized crime.

He conveyed the greetings of First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, Sheikh Fahad Al-Yousef, to Major General Maan, affirming the depth of the fraternal relations binding Kuwait and Iraq and the importance of enhancing frameworks of cooperation and joint coordination to serve the shared interests of the two fraternal countries.

For his part, Major General Maan expressed, according to the statement, his gratitude and appreciation for the warm reception, praising the depth of the fraternal relations linking the two countries and noting the commitment to continuing to enhance cooperation and joint coordination.

The reception was attended by Lieutenant General Majbal Al-Rashidi, Head of the Land Border Security and Coast Guard Sector; Colonel Khalid Al-Taraji, Director General of the Undersecretary’s Office; Colonel Nasser Al-Buslub, Director General of the Security Relations and Media Department; and a number of security officials from both sides.
