Minister of Social Affairs: We continue to strengthen oversight of cooperatives and enhance their performance
Minister of Social Affairs, Family and Children Affairs, Dr. Amal Al-Huwaileh, affirmed on Thursday the Ministry’s continued efforts to strengthen oversight and follow-up, and to enhance performance efficiency in cooperative societies, thereby contributing to elevating the cooperative sector and improving services provided to members.
She made these remarks in a press statement upon attending part of the personal interviews for candidates applying for financial and administrative inspector positions within the cooperative sector, as part of procedures to select new national competencies capable of performing oversight roles with efficiency and distinction.
Al-Huwaileh stated that the Ministry is committed to selecting qualified individuals for oversight positions to help protect members’ funds and ensure compliance with the laws and regulations governing cooperative operations.
She added that developing oversight work is a fundamental pillar in reducing violations and entrenching principles of transparency and discipline in this vital sector, noting that the selection of national competencies is conducted according to standards that ensure fairness and equal opportunity among applicants.
Al-Huwaileh explained that the personal interview procedures are carried out under clear and organized guidelines, including video recording of the interviews to document the selection stages and reinforce principles of transparency and impartiality in the evaluation process.
She praised the extensive female participation from citizens seeking to join oversight roles in the cooperative sector, indicating that this influx reflects the commitment of national competencies to participate and take on responsibility across various fields of public work.
She affirmed the Ministry’s ongoing support for national human resources and their empowerment in oversight positions within the cooperative sector, contributing to building a more efficient and disciplined oversight system and enhancing the quality of work in cooperative societies.
